OPI Pop the Cork || Nail of the Day Swatch

by

A nail of the day (NOTD) swatch using OPI pop the cork chunky glitter and Julep Alexandra as the base.

I have been loving experimenting with pairing different nail polish shades together, using accent nails, and so on.  One of the things I have been steering clear from, though, was chunky glitter.  I was worried it wasn’t age appropriate for me and that it would be terrible to get off.

On a whim, and against my chunky glitter worries, I purchased OPI’s “Pop the Cork” as it was at the register while checking out at Sally Beauty and it seemed to be calling my name.  Plus, it was a limited edition polish, and whenever I hear the phrase, “limited edition”, my mind automatically processes it as, “you better get it now because you will not be able to later” and I tend to make snap purchases!

{at the time of this posting, I wasn’t even able to find it online anywhere to purchase, so if your local Sally’s still has it in stock, you should get your hands on it}

I was right, this polish was terrible to take off, but I plan on getting polish remover specifically made for glitter and trying it again because I loved this combo.  The base color I used was Julep’s Alexandra.

This would be a great nail look for the New Year’s Eve holiday and, therefore, OPI named this glitter polish very appropriately.

    I love a good gold glitter, especially around the holidays. I tried one chunky glitter and wasn’t crazy about it, but I like the look of this one.

      It really is a nice glitter, considering it would be considered “chunky”.

[…] Try it for yourself, I promise you will not be disappointed and this extra “step” of putting down a white polish first really doesn’t add all that much time and is a super simple thing you can do to get big results.  This white-base-coat method is also great to use on light colored polishes and glitters with clear jelly bases {much like I did with this look here}.
