Makeup and Beauty Bargain Picks {week of 8/25/2014}

by

I’m baaaaaaaccccck!!  Last week was quite the whirlwind for me.  My best friend got married and I was her Matron of Honor, so there was a lot of things to do!  But, the day was beautiful, the bride was beautiful, and the dance floor was hoppin’ by the end of the night, so I will call it a success.  But, I am happy to be back blogging today and just like any other Monday, I have my Makeup and Beauty Bargain picks of the week for you!

Drugstore Makeup and Beauty Bargain Picks for this Week

This week you can score FREE Colgate Optic White toothpaste at CVS or a great deal on Olay Regenerist at Target.

And, do not forget that at Walgreens, through the end of August, you can also earn 50 bonus Balance Rewards points on every $1 you spend on beauty and personal care products.  If you have already scanned the coupon for these bonus points, you do not need to scan it again.  It will automatically apply for the rest of the time valid when you use your Balance Rewards card at Walgreens.

Online Makeup and Beauty Bargain Picks for this Week

I realized after my Clinique Haul post that it would also be worth sharing some of the great deals you can get online for a lot of different beauty products {especially high end products that I know I wouldn’t be able to afford without some savvy shopping}.

This week {especially within the next couple of days}, I suggest checking out Haute Look for Whitening Lightening, LORAC, and Dr. Brandt Skincare products.  On Haute Look, you can usually find these high end products for around 50% off.  The catch is that the deals are only available for a couple of days or until the amount of product they are offering sells out.

I will definitely be buying some of the whitening pens from Whitening Lightening as they are the only thing I have found to whiten in the cracks of my teeth where my Crest strips do not get very well.

Dr. Brandt skincare is AMAZING, but I certainly could not afford to use it regularly when only purchasing it at full price, so Haute Look sales are pretty much the only way I can continuously purchase this brand.  I personally really like the “Pores no More” product from Dr. Brandt.

And my dear beauty penguins, I know you have all probably heard of the great quality in the LORAC Pro eye shadow palettes, so you can imagine that the LORAC products on Haute Look will be selling out quickly this week!

Also, if you are an Ipsy Glam Bag subscriber {which is $10/month}, you can get 30% off Glam Glow masks during the month of August.  Birchbox subscribers {also $10/month} can get an extra 50 Birchbox points ($5) when you spend $35 on products from the August box using code BUY35EXTRA50 {and do not forget to snag your free samples from the Bonus Shop with your purchase}.  If you want to learn more about either one of these monthly subscription boxes, check out my monthly Ipsy Glam Bag reviews or my monthly Birchbox reviews.

The Beauty Bargain Deal Details

Free Colgate at CVS

Colgate Optic White toothpaste is my favorite whitening toothpaste.  So, I am really happy to see a deal on it this week.  You will need a coupon from this past weekend’s newspaper for the best {free} deal, but there is an online coupon that you can use to get this product almost free.

Here is how the deal will break down

Buy (1) Colgate Optic Toothpaste or Total Advanced Toothpaste – sale price of $3.00

Receive $2.00 in CVS ExtraBucks for buying one

Use $1.00/1 – Colgate Enamel Health, Total, Optic White, Max Fresh or Sensitive Toothpaste, 3.4 oz or larger from SS 8/24

Or $0.75/1Colgate Toothpaste: Total Advanced, 4 oz or larger (colgate.com)

Total equates to FREE {with newspaper coupon} or $0.25 {with online coupon}!

Olay Regenerist at Target

I will never forget the first time I gifted some Olay products to my mom {that I got a super deal on with couponing}.  She said it is such a special treat for her to use these products {since she doesn’t coupon and cannot afford to buy these regularly}.  Therefore, now whenever Olay is on sale, I snatch a couple up for her!

Here is how the deal will break down

Buy (2) of Olay Regenerist Luminous Moisturizers (sale price of $19.99) or Facial Cleansers (sale price of $8.99)

Get a FREE $5 Gift Card when you buy (2) Olay Regenerist Cleansers or Moisturizers

Use $2/1 Olay Pro-X or Regenerist Facial Moisturizer or Facial Hair Removal (coupon from monthly P&G newspaper insert)

Or $2/1 Olay Regenerist Facial Moisturizer

Or $1/1 Olay Facial Cleanser

Total cost will vary dependent upon how you mix and match your moisturizer versus facial cleanser purchase!

Online Coupons to Print Now for Later

Like I mentioned in my Couponing 101 post where I talk about all the places I get coupons from, online coupons are one of those things that are “here today, gone tomorrow”, so I always just print good ones right when I see them and then save them for when the products may go on sale.  Here are the ones I will be printing out this week, but am saving for later {just so that I know I will not miss out on having them if the brand goes on sale}:

$2/1 Burts Bees Natural Acne Solutions Product

$0.50/1 CoverGirl Product

$2/1 Any Yes To Natural Beauty Product

$2/1 Revlon Age Defying Foundation, Powder, BB Cream, Blush, Concealer, or Primer

Remember, you can print all of these online coupons two times for each computer you have.  Also, the links above should automatically add each coupon to the “Print Basket” so that you do not have to search for them.

All About this Drugstore Beauty Bargain Series

As the name of my blog {Simple Nails and Beauty} implies, I am a simple girl when it comes to makeup and other beauty products.  I do not need the fanciest product, nor am I even capable of creating an artistic masterpiece on my face.  I just want to look and feel pretty in the simplest way possible.  Drugstore beauty products are some of my go-to, everyday makeup options!

I do, however, find it a load of fun to try new products, new brands, and step out of my comfort zone every once in a while when purchasing a new lip gloss or eye shadow {if I didn’t experiment every so often, I would end up with a million different nude colors and that would be it}.  I like to think that I have an unlimited beauty budget to try all of the different colors and options my heart desires, but my husband tells me otherwise.  So, to quench my beauty purchasing thirst, I use coupons and watch for great deals at my local drugstores {and trust me, I keep my couponing simple as well….I am no extreme couponer, just a savvy saver}.

Of course, I thought I would share my findings with you so that you can also save a bit of money {and time since the legwork in finding the coupons and bargains is done for you}.  For the most part, I shop at Walgreens, but I also {occasionally} hit up my local Target, CVS, and Walmart.

And that is how my “Drugstore Beauty Bargain Picks of the Week” series came to be!

How do I Decide What Bargains to Pick?

For the most part, like I mentioned above, my drugstore of choice is Walgreens.  The secret to shopping at Walgreens is to only buy things that are on sale AND you have coupons for.  So, I start choosing based on products that fit into this category {on sale and I have coupons for}, then based on what products are actually included in the sale {and what I personally am looking for discounts on}, I make my final choices.  For the other drugstores I shop at {mainly Target, CVS, and Walmart}, the same process applies.  Again, just keep in mind that a sale price + coupon = goal.

I hope you have enjoyed this post.  Stay tuned for more Beauty Bargain posts that show you the best way to save on your own high end beauty purchases!
