Julep Mystery Box and Wizard of Oz Collection Unboxing {June 2014}

by

I do not know what compelled me to sign up as a Julep Maven, but I am so glad that I did!  {okay, I actually do know what compelled me to sign up…it was the allure that my first box was free, all I had to pay was $3.99 for shipping, and beautifully fun nail polish was delivered right to my door and I didn’t have to go and get it myself….booyah!}  Because I am now a Julep Maven, I get free shipping at all times, 20% off all regularly priced items, and first access to huge sales.  When I got an email about the Julep Mystery Box for June {and the huge savings it entailed}, I was instantly sold.  The best part, though, was that the Wizard of Oz collection was on sale at a super-duper discount if I added it to my Mystery Box order, so you better believe I took advantage of that as well!

Today I am unboxing the Julep Mystery Box for June 2014 along with the Wizard of Oz Collection.

My Thoughts on Julep Mystery Box:

Unlike the Julep Maven subscription boxes, which are purple, this mystery box order came in their black box.  Side note :: I am currently saving all my Julep boxes and the inner packaging to use for gifting {they are such cute boxes, they are perfect for all those birthday gifts and Christmas presents I always need to wrap…plus, I TOTALLY see myself giving Julep products as gifts, especially with the great deals I am getting as a Maven}.

Watch for future posts that will review the polishes I received in more detail, but I will tell you {right now, immediately} that you will absolutely LOVE Julep’s polishes.  I have been using Orly, O.P.I., and China Glaze for as long as I remember {once I became a Sally Beauty Store member, that was the only place I bought nail polish}.  I can happily report that Julep’s polishes work just as great, if not better {it is hard for me to say that, too, as I do love those other brands so much}.  I instantly painted my nails with Emerald City once I opened this box and I am still in disbelief as how much I love the color and the polish went on so silky smooth {just like the other colors I have tried}, making my nails feel super thick and strong, that I will definitely be continuing my membership with Julep!

FYI :: I plan to do a post {probably my next post} on what being a Julep Maven is all about in the near future, but for now, onto the unboxing!

I chose the Friends and Family Secret Box #1 for June.  I received three colors of polish with this mystery box.  The Annemarie, Gunta, and Hannah.

Julep Gunta Nail Polish:

Julep Annemarie Nail Polish:

Julep Hannah Nail Polish:

I definitely see myself wearing and liking all three of these colors, so I am excited that the Mystery Box was a big win for me!

Julep also sent a cute little surprise with this mystery box…..a little packet of forget-me-not flowers!

My Thoughts on the Wizard of Oz Collection:

As I mentioned above, I also added the Wizard of Oz Collection to my order.  The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies, so I was very easily sucked into this sale.  The colors included in this collection are: Ruby Slippers (glitter polish), Tin Man (holographic polish), Glinda the Good Witch (frost polish), and Emerald City (creme polish).  These colors are only available with the Wizard of Oz Collection!  I am SO LOVING the Emerald City color {to be fair, I am rather impartial right now to anything Emerald since that was my son’s birthstone}.

All in all, I received $98 worth of really high-end, amazing polishes for just $30!  Given that nail polish doesn’t really go bad {sometimes you just need help from nail polish thinner to revive the bottle}, and that this polish is of such high quality and allows for your manicure to last longer, I really feel like this was an extra $30 {on top of my Julep monthly subscription} well spent.  Seven polishes for $30 {shipping was free for me as a Maven} is just $4.29 per polish!

      Emerald City is one of my new favs for sure! I have a review of it coming soon. But, your comment has me thinking. The Emerald City would look amazing with Tin Man as an accent nail {Jen runs off to polish her nails}
