I have said it many times before, I love Julep’s nail polish. It always applies beautifully and lasts on my nails. However, recently I have become obsessed with the Julep beauty products. They are dang good. I’ve tried their skin care, eye shadows, lip products, makeup brushes, and more!
For a company that was founded on the creation of nail polish, I am completely blown away at how much I love what Julep offers in the realm of makeup and skin care. I have been finding myself swapping out the nail polish in my Maven subscription box for the beauty products Julep offers (yes, you get to CHOOSE what you get in your subscription box each month if you want to). This month I decided not to receive a single bit of nail polish [insert gasp here].
On top of that, I got this month’s box 100% for free (I’ll tell you more about that later on in the post).
Julep Beauty Products
Maven Subscription Box – February 2016
So, which products did I choose? I swapped out my beloved nail polish for a travel makeup brush case, a konjac cleansing sponge, and the Julep Matte Lip Mousse in XOXO. The total value of this box is $52…and remember, I got it for FREE!
Julep Matte Lip Mousse
This matte lip mousse is probably one of the Julep beauty products that I am most excited for right now. In a previous month’s Maven subscription box, I opted to receive a couple of these matte lip mousses. They are incredible. They go on effortlessly, wear comfortably (even as they dry matte), and LAST. It is hard to say that about a lot of matte lip products.
The unique shape of the brush is one of the things I love most. I can get a precisely applied line around my lips with the end of the applicator, but the indent in the hourglass shape hugs my lips perfectly to fill in. Plus, the formula is so creamy and smooth – and because of the whipped, mousse-like consistency, there isn’t a whole lot of excess product on the brush. This makes it much less messy to apply versus other liquid lipstick type products I have tried.
Like I mentioned above, this month I opted to get the shade XOXO, but I also have this in Ooh La La and Bisou (Bisou is seemingly no longer available as of the date of this posting). I will eventually have all of the shades, I am sure.
Julep Konjac Cleansing Sponge
I love me a good konjac cleansing sponge ever since I tried and reviewed this one. The fact that I can get one from Julep, that is high quality, and comes with it’s own little shower hook makes me very happy.
Julep Travel Makeup Brush Case
If it wasn’t for the matte lip mousse, I think I would be most excited for this travel makeup brush case. I love that it has two sections. One section holds skinnier brushes (like eye shadow brushes) while the other section holds larger brushes. Then, it just zips right up and I can toss it in my suitcase. And this thing holds a lot of brushes! More than I should probably take with me if I am traveling.
How I got this Maven Subscription Box for FREE
One of the perks of being a Julep Maven is that you are eligible to earn “Jules” which are Julep’s rewards point system. You earn Jules for every month that you get your Maven Subscription Box (you can opt-out and skip each and every month that you want). You also earn Jules if you make additional purchases on Julep.com. This month, I had enough Jules to redeem for an entirely FREE Maven Subscription Box! But, you can also redeem the Jules for add-ons, additional products, and other bonus items.
I hope you have enjoyed this look at my Maven Subscription box for February. You can catch all of my recent Julep unboxings here, or browse through some of my other beauty subscription unboxings and reviews here.
