Drugstore Makeup and Beauty Bargain Picks for this Week

Could you use some free eye shadow?  I mean, who doesn’t want free makeup?

Last week I started my “Cosmetics Couponing 101” series and in the first post I commented on how couponing does not always result in freebies for you.  Well, this week my friends, there really IS a freebie deal that you can snag.  I almost squealed out loud standing in Walgreens when I discovered it.

This week’s drugstore beauty bargain picks include Revlon eye shadow at Walgreens, L’Oreal Lipstick at Walgreens, and Simple Face Wipes and St. Ives Spray Lotion at Target.

Also, for my Walgreens shoppers, make sure to try and head to the store between now and Tuesday.  There is a points booster “coupon” in this week’s ad where if you spend $25 in store {before any manufacturer’s coupons but after any in-store coupons and sale prices}, you get 5,000 bonus balance rewards points {worth about $5}.  And, do not forget that at Walgreens, through the end of August, you can also earn 50 bonus Balance Rewards points on every $1 you spend on beauty and personal care products.  If you have already scanned the coupon for these bonus points, you do not need to scan it again.  It will automatically apply for the rest of the time valid when you use your Balance Rewards card at Walgreens.

The Beauty Bargain Details

Revlon Eye Shadow Links at Walgreens:

I actually took advantage of this deal last week, but if you saw my post on Facebook regarding a $2 off Revlon coupon, you knew that this week I would be sharing with you a pretty sweet deal that involves Revlon’s new eye shadow links.  I am really digging these single shadows.  You buy them separately, but they link together to form your own personal, custom quad shadow {in my case, since I bought four, but you can link together as little or as many as you want}.  At the display in store, there are example quads that you can put together, so I chose my four eye shadow links based on one of Revlon’s suggested looks.

These Revlon eye shadow links are $3.29 each normally.  Revlon products are B1G1 50% off this week.  Pair this sale with one Walgreen’s in-store coupon and one manufacturer’s coupon and you are going to score free eye shadow.  And that is before you even consider the bonus Balance Rewards points you will be earning!

Here is how the deal will break down {links to all coupons are below}

Buy (4) Revlon eye shadow links {regularly $3.29 each} – $13.16 total regularly

Sale price for B1G1 50% off deducts $3.29 from your total

Use (4) of the $2 off manufacturer’s coupons to deduct $8 from your total {if you can only print this coupon twice, I would suggest only purchasing two of the eye shadow links instead of four as in this example}

Use Walgreens in-store coupon for $1 off Revlon eye products to deduct $4 from your total

Pay nothing out of pocket!!!

L’Oreal Lipstick at Walgreens:

L’Oreal products are on sale this week B1G1 50% off and you will also receive 3,000 balance rewards points ($3) when you buy 2.  Plus we have the Beauty points (50 points for every $1 spent on beauty). Add to that the Points Booster offer we have available through Tuesday and you can get L’Oreal lip cosmetics that are regularly over $8 for just $2.17 each. That’s over 70% OFF!

Here is how the deal will break down {links to all coupons are below}

Buy (4) L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick {regularly $8.29 each} – $33.16 total regularly

Sale price for B1G1 50% off deducts $8.29 from your total

Use (4) of the $1 off manufacturer’s coupons to deduct $4 from your total {if you can only print this coupon twice, I would suggest only purchasing two of the lipsticks instead of four as in this example}

Get 1,200 Beauty Points ($1.20)
Get 6,000 L’Oreal Points ($6.00) for buying 4 items
Get 5,000 Balance Reward Points for $25+ purchase ($5.00)

Total equates to $8.67 or $2.17 each!

Simple Cleansing Wipes paired with St. Ives Spray Lotion at Target:

There is a new Target mobile coupon available to save $2.00 on any beauty purchase of $10.00 or more!  The coupon is valid on cosmetics, fragrances, hair care, personal care and skin care.  There is a promotion on select Unilever products where if you buy three, you will receive a $5.00 Target gift card. Stack this new $2 off Target mobile coupon with a couple of manufacturer coupons to score two St. Ives spray lotions and one 25-count pack of Simple wipes for just $0.56 each!

Here is how the deal will break down {links to all coupons are below}

Buy (2) St. Ives Spray Lotion, 6.5 fl oz $5.99, sale price 8/10-8/16
Buy (1) Simple cleansing wipes, 25 ct $4.69, sale price 8/10-8/16

Use one of the $2 off manufacturer’s coupons for the Simple cleansing wipes

And use one B1G1 Free – St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion coupon from the 7/27 Red Plum newspaper insert

And use one $2.00/1 Beauty Purchase, $10.00 or more, Target Mobile Coupon (expires 8/22)

Pay $6.68, Receive $5.00 Target Gift Card

Total equates to $8.67 or $0.56 each, when you buy all 3 items

I have never used the St. Ives spray lotion, but with such a great deal this week, now would be the time to try them.  Have you used the St. Ives Spray Lotion?  Leave me a comment letting me know what you thought and your favorite scent or version of it!

How I did on Beauty Bargains Last Week

It wouldn’t be fair of me not to share the deals I purchased from last week’s beauty bargain picks {and then some}.  Sometimes, once I get to the store, I find other bargains to take advantage of.  Or, the products I wanted to buy are sold out or not what I was expecting.  Given that some of the deals and coupons may still be going on, it just makes sense to share my shopping savings {case in point, the Revlon eye shadow deal I discovered last week}!  Plus, this may help some to visualize how the savings really do work and how quickly they add up.

All About this Drugstore Beauty Bargain Series

As the name of my blog {Simple Nails and Beauty} implies, I am a simple girl when it comes to makeup and other beauty products.  I do not need the fanciest product, nor am I even capable of creating an artistic masterpiece on my face.  I just want to look and feel pretty in the simplest way possible.  Drugstore beauty products are some of my go-to, everyday makeup options!

I do, however, find it a load of fun to try new products, new brands, and step out of my comfort zone every once in a while when purchasing a new lip gloss or eye shadow {if I didn’t experiment every so often, I would end up with a million different nude colors and that would be it}.  I like to think that I have an unlimited beauty budget to try all of the different colors and options my heart desires, but my husband tells me otherwise.  So, to quench my beauty purchasing thirst, I use coupons and watch for great deals at my local drugstores {and trust me, I keep my couponing simple as well….I am no extreme couponer, just a savvy saver}.

Of course, I thought I would share my findings with you so that you can also save a bit of money {and time since the legwork in finding the coupons and bargains is done for you}.  For the most part, I shop at Walgreens, but I also {occasionally} hit up my local Target and Walmart.

And that is how my “Drugstore Beauty Bargain Picks of the Week” series came to be!

How do I Decide What Bargains to Pick?

For the most part, like I mentioned above, my drugstore of choice is Walgreens.  The secret to shopping at Walgreens is to only buy things that are on sale AND you have coupons for.  So, I start choosing based on products that fit into this category {on sale and I have coupons for}, then based on what products are actually included in the sale {and what I personally am looking for discounts on}, I make my final choices.  For the other drugstores I shop at {mainly Target and Walmart}, the same process applies.  Again, just keep in mind that a sale price + coupon = goal.

I hope you have enjoyed this post.  Stay tuned for more Beauty Bargain Picks!
