Clinique Haul {and how to save the most money on high end products}

by

A couple of days ago, I shared with you my review on Clinique’s Pore Refining Solutions Stay Matte Hydrator.  I promised to share this Clinique haul, but to take it a step further, I decided I also wanted to share with you how I saved the most money on these high end products {we all know I love a good Beauty Bargain}.

My Clinique Haul and how I saved over 70% on these high end products || SimpleNailsandBeauty.com

I knew I wanted to purchase the Stay Matte Hydrator long before I actually purchased it.  I wanted to try the product out in hopes of preventing an oil-slicked face during my friend’s wedding, but I held off on ordering it until Clinique was running a promotion.  That is my number one tip for saving money on high end products, such as Clinique.  As long as you are not in desperate need of the item, wait.  Wait until it either goes on sale or the company is offering a gift-with-purchase such as was the case when I finally decided to buy the Stay Matte Hydrator.

At the time of my purchase, Clinique was offering a 5-piece bonus with an online purchase AND I got to choose three minis as samples with my online order AND I got free shipping.  Booyah!

My Clinique Haul Included:

Pore Refining Solutions Stay Matte Hydrator (full size) – value of $38.50
Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel (one of my mini choices) – value of $4.50 (based on relative comparison to full size pricing)
Clinique Happy (one of my mini choices) – value of $4.00 (based on relative comparison to full size pricing)
All about Eyes Moisturizer (one of my mini choices) – value of $10.54 (based on relative comparison to full size pricing)
Super Primer (sample from 5-piece bonus) – value of $6.48 (based on relative comparison to full size pricing)
Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief (0.5 oz size from 5-piece bonus) – value of $12
Lash Doubling Mascara (sample from 5-piece bonus) – value of $8.25 (based on relative comparison to full size pricing)
Deep Comfort Hand and Cuticle Cream (full size product from 5-piece bonus) – value of $21
Lipstick in “A Different Grape” (full size product from 5-piece bonus) – value of $16
A cute Clinique makeup bag (from 5-piece bonus) – value of $5 (?)

I have no idea what the bag’s value would be.  So for consistency purposes, I will always give haul bags a value of $5.  I think that is fair, don’t you? {although it is probably underestimating the value}

My Clinique Haul Value and Total Savings:

The total value I received with this order was $126.27!

I paid only $38.50 and I got $1.48 in cash back from Ebates.

That means I saved over 70% on these high end products!

And I have been using every…single…item.  Yep, even the sample sizes!  Because the samples work just the same and you would be surprised at how long samples last.  Plus, they are perfect for when you travel!

Three Simple Ways to Save the Most Money on High End Beauty Products:

Now that you have seen it is possible to get high end products {some of the best available} at huge discounts, I encourage you to keep the following three simple thoughts in mind so that you can enjoy products such as these for yourself!

1.  Wait until there is a gift-with-purchase or bonus item(s) option offered

2.  Shop online at the company’s website and take advantage of free shipping when possible {I find that companies offer deals more consistently on their websites versus what you would find at department stores, so even if you do have to pay for shipping, you are still going to be getting a pretty good deal}

3.  Shop at the company’s website via Ebates.  If you visit Ebates.com first then click through to your preferred destination {in my case, with today’s haul, I clicked on through to Clinique’s website}, you will receive a cash back rebate on your entire purchase, regardless of other promotions!

I hope you have enjoyed this post.  Stay tuned for more Beauty Hauls that show you the best way to save on your own high end beauty purchases!

    Thanks for sharing how you did this! I for some reason never thought about looking for online promotions for Clinique. I wait until the mall has one but I hate waiting around and the people always treat you like you’re only there for the free sample. Some of us do really like your stuff all the time!

      I completely understand how you feel, Valerie. I mean, if they didn’t want you to have the freebies, they wouldn’t offer them, right? Plus, I am much more comfortable being able to “browse” in my pajamas while at home….no sales pressure! The downside is that you cannot see the colors in person. So, a good mix of in-store shopping and online shopping is the way to go, I think.

    What a great deal! Clinque products are AWESOME but part of the reason I don’t regularly purchase them is the cost, it’s always good when you can save- I really enjoyed your post! Thanks for sharing.
