Giving and sha(RED) || Birchbox November 2014 Unboxing

by

The theme for this month’s Birchbox was “Giving”.  Birchbox actually teamed up with (RED) to help raise money and awareness for the global fight against AIDS.

And guess what?  You can help!  Share one of the photos of my (RED) box below, one that shows the facts about AIDS, and use the code #shaRED.  For every photo shared via social media, using this hashtag, Birchbox will donate $1 to the cause!

Here is my Birchbox November 2014 Unboxing

The Products I Received:

amika Nourishing Mask || Full Size $28 || Sample Value $2.24

Purchase here or on Amazon

I haven’t tried this yet, but I am excited to!  The bottle says it is “Sea Buckhorn Berry” and whatever that is smells amazing.  I can’t wait to use this the next time I do a hair mask.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain || Full Size $20 || Sample Value $9.29

Purchase here

I received the color “Heart Throb” and I will more than likely be using my Birchbox points {once I have enough saved} to buy more of these…because this lip stain is excellent!  I will be using this under lipsticks so that when those wear off I am still left with a little bit of color.  On days when I do not really need the “full glam” lipstick provides, this gives me the perfect wash of color on my lips to prevent the “no, I’m not dying” look.  It isn’t that glossy, sticky finish {which is what I despise most about lip glosses}, it literally feels like I applied the most nourishing lip moisturizer!

{side note: see below for more info on what Birchbox points are and how to get them for yourself}

Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Body Lotion || Full Size $15 || Sample Value $2.53

Purchase here or on Amazon

In the tube this has a really fresh scent, but once I applied it, it started to have a less than favorable smell.  The smell wasn’t strong, and it could have very well just been that it was reacting with other products I already had on my skin.  I will say that as the lotion soaked into my hands, it made them feel so creamy and soft.  Given that the smell isn’t all that noticeable unless you put the skin right up to your nose, I would consider purchasing the full size of this because of how soft it made my skin feel.

Royal Apothic Cuppa Cuppa Firming Tea Treatment Mask || Full Size $58 || Sample Value $9.67

Purchase here

I chose this as my sample optionI am not sure what variety of tea it is supposed to smell like, but since the product is a reddish brown color, I am going to guess red tea.  Whatever it is supposed to smell like is one thing, but I will tell you that it smells like fresh mashed up raspberries.  In other words, amazing.

theBalm Cindy-Lou Manizer || Full Size $24 || Sample Value $1.60

Purchase here or on Amazon

This is supposed to be used as a highlighter, but it is so stinkin’ itty-bitty that unless I would use my fingers to apply {which I hate doing…I hate touching my oily fingers on my face}, you would have to use this as an eye shadow.  Also, the color of this would not be something I would highlight with anyways!  Would I use this as a blush? Sure.  An eyeshadow?  Absolutely.  But not a highlighter.  It is a really pretty color, just not one I would use for highlighting.

BONUS ITEM : dang Coconut Chips, Pack of 6 for $18 || Sample Value $3

Purchase here or on Amazon

I cracked these open right away to snack on and they were delicious!

    I’ve always wanted to review one of these “boxes” with great cosmetics. I’m not daring enough to spend a lot of money on new products. These look great.

    I have also been on the fence about this one. I have been wanting to get a subscription box, oh the choices!
