Recently I was sent three different complimentary oils from Azure Naturals to give a try in exchange for sharing my honest opinions.  I was sent their Rosehip, Emu, and Argan oils.

Rosehip Seed Oil has been used for centuries by ancient Egyptians, Mayans, Native Americans, and Chileans for medicinal purposes. Rosehip Oil is considered a dry oil and is quickly absorbed. It is extremely light weight and has no greasy residue. It has many benefits and can be used to treat a variety of hair, skin, and nail issues including the following: Wrinkles, Premature Skin Aging, Age Spots, Hyper pigmentation, UV Damage, Scars, Burns, Acne Marks, Psoriasis, Eczema, Dermatitis, Dry and Damaged Hair, Stretch Marks from Pregnancy or Weight Loss, or Brittle Nails.

The Options Available

All of Azure Natural’s oils are available in glass jars with a pump.  Score!

I have used similar products in the past {think serums} that utilize an eye dropper mechanism.  Because of how much I disliked the eye dropper method for dispensing the product, I have avoided certain brands when they have it.  Therefore, I am so happy to see that Azure Naturals incorporated a standard pump for their oil bottles!

The rosehip oil is an orange-ish color while the emu and argan oils are clear.

It is also worth mentioning that the bottles are 2 oz. in size.  In speaking with Azure Naturals, you really do not need to purchase a bottle of oil {rosehip, emu, or argan} larger than this at one time.  The reason being is that since you need so little for each use {just a couple of drops} and since the oils have a shelf life of about 3-4 months, the 2 oz. jar {such as the one Azure Naturals offers}, should last you that same amount of time.  Any larger in size and you may run into the product expiring before you can use it all {even with frequent use}.

Although this review will be focused on my thoughts in using the Rosehip Oil, I do also just want to point out that Azure Naturals offers Emu Oil and Moroccan Argan Oil as well.

My Experience with Azure Naturals Rosehip Oil

Azure Naturals Rosehip Oil Review #azurenaturals

As mentioned above, I received a complimentary bottle of Azure Naturals rosehip oil for my honest review and I can honestly say that I really like it!

I started out by using it on my face in place of my current serum {both day and night} and a couple of dry patches that I had started seeing {due to the cold weather arriving here in Wisconsin} cleared right up. I have combination {mostly} oily skin and am very acne prone. I had no problems with this rosehip oil. No breakouts! Along with my skin feeling more moisturized and soft, it also seemed more firm and radiant.

I agree with Azure’s claims that it is lightweight and absorbs quickly.  As far as the non-greasy claim goes…I mean, it is an oil, so there is some level of “greasiness” {or oiliness, if you want to call it that instead} upon application, but because it absorbs quickly your face isn’t left feeling greasy, just supple!

There are plenty of uses for rosehip oil, from what I have read, so I decided to try it out in other ways than just on my face. I have also been using it on stretch marks from my pregnancy. Although I cannot say they eliminated the stretch marks {I have been using the oil for about two weeks}, I would say that they have reduced in appearance, at least a little bit. Hey, I will take what I can get!

The only negative {and it isn’t really all that negative} is in regards to the smell of the oil. A few other reviewers online have mentioned the oil smelling like tea. That was not my personal experience {and it may just be because I do not really know what tea is supposed to smell like}. To me, it smelled a little fishy. The way I explained it to my husband was that it reminded me of what the oil in a sardine can smells like. It isn’t super strong, but enough for me to have to stop using it on my face {since it is so close to my nose}.

I will continue to use the oil on my body, however!

I love rosehip oil. When I use it, I usually apply it liberally to my face and neck at night, and use that instead of my other serums and moisturizer. I love your tip to apply a few drops under my moisturizer. Great idea!
